About the Author

My name is Alexis McDavid and I am a beginning writer. I had thought about being a writer when I was a child, but at some point I got the impression that becoming a writer would be impossibly difficult. Now I know there is a tremendous difference between being a successful writer, and being Stephen King, Dan Brown or Stephenie Meyer. Now I am exploring the possibilities of becoming a writer in truth.

I graduated with a computer degree and have been employed in computer tech and IT management positions for ten years. I am now employed in project management in a tech development company. I live in an older house with a cat, a snake and my loving partner for many years, Amy.

About the Blog

Dreamer’s Requiem is a place to share the lessons and tools that I learn in becoming a writer, so that I can share them with others like me. It will record my thoughts and experiences on this road of discovery.

I chose the name Dreamer’s Requiem to remind myself that no one will chase my dreams for me. I’ve waited until I am thirty to start chasing this dream. If I let the dreamer inside of me die, I would add that regret to those I already have. That is what regret is, the Dreamer’s Requiem.
